Master Plan

The Master Plan for Tree Hill is inspired by a national movement called New Urbanism, which has brought fresh energy to traditional neighborhood development. Characteristics of this approach include compact, vibrant town centers; neighborhoods and public spaces linked by roads, walkways and bike paths; neighborhood parks and schools; appropriate landscaping; and integrated services and shopping. Architectural standards are high and respect local history and traditions.

Tree Hill is envisioned to be a community of 2,770 residences with interspersed commercial development of up to 1,160,000 square feet. The development program provides flexibility over time to adjust the mix of residential and commercial units to keep the live/work/play equation in perfect balance.

The community will be pedestrian friendly, with residents easily able to walk to shops, restaurants and other amenities within Tree Hill. Destinations include 250 acres of “pocket parks,” riverfront park and preserved creeks and wetlands. In concert with the tiered site, the plan calls for a village on the upper elevation with a large common area called Lafayette Park. The middle tier will be the town center with a lively central square— unseen from Old Osborne Turnpike. The tier by the river will include natural areas open to both Tree Hill residents and the larger community.
